@Virginia, wait a day and check the online site. It will tell you if they received your claim. You do have to file an initial claim first, then file weekly claims. I hope you did that.
@Rachel, if you are retiring, I don't think you can get unemployment. You will be receiving retirement benefits, but I could be wrong. Also, you can not make a certain amount each week and still get unemployment. When on unemployment, if you have a part time job, you still have to search for full time employment. Go to your state's website about unemployment benefits and there will be information there.
